The Stihl KM131R Kombi Engine has a newly updated 4-MIX engine which beats its predecessor (the KM130R), in every way. The latest addition to the Kombi Engine range features as easier starter method, larger fuel tank and a more comfortable loop handle operation. This means you can operate at better efficiency for longer periods.

An updated 4-Mix Engine, Maximum Efficiency Stihl Kombi Engine

The KM 131 R benefits from the power of a 4-stroke engine with the flexibility of a 2-stroke. Running on a fuel and oil mix, the internal mechanics are well lubricated meaning a quieter, high accelerating revolution power. This results in an increase of torque and power whilst increasing efficiency by reducing emissions output and noise. Additionally, this increase in power efficiency means less fuel consumption.

Lightweight for efficient handling

As with most Stihl products, the design comes into play to ensure the KM131 R is comfortable and lightweight to operate. Weighing in at just 4.8kg with the combination of the loop-handle grip, you can expect to manoeuvre this unit around with ease. Furthermore, all the controls are conveniently grouped together for one-handed use.

Easy To Start

Stihl has further improved its starter feature with simple but effective features. The manual fuel pump benefits the engine from needing fewer strokes to start. Additionally, a decompression valve of the start rope helps reduce the amount of force necessary to get it going. As standard, the stop/ start switch makes restarting the machine fast and simple.

Fortunately, the Stihl KM131R Kombi Engine is compatible with the full range of KombiTools. The lightweight and versatile design are ideal for those tight working areas whether you are using the blower, bristle brush or edge trimmer. Removal and fitment of attachment are made extremely simple with the quick release system. Finally, the harness attachment can increase productivity by reducing the strain from working on large areas whilst improving smooth mowing actions.

Manual fuel pump

The manual fuel pump makes starting the tool easier. Pressing the pump ensures fewer strokes are required to start the tool as sufficient fuel is present within the carburettor.

Loop handle (R)

The loop handled grass trimmers and brushcutters are ideal for working in areas where space is limited, e.g. thinning between bushes and shrubs.

Multi-function handle with stop button

All the engine controls can be controlled with just one hand featuring a stop switch which automatically reverts back to the start position for a quicker, simple restart.

Stop switch

The multi-function control handle features a stop switch which automatically reverts back to the start position for a quicker, simple restart.

Anti-vibration system

Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine’s engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.

Decompression system

The decompression valve allows some of the compression pressure in the cylinder to escape, so less force on the starter rope is needed.

Quick-release coupling

The quick-release coupling allows the KombiSystem to be quickly dismantled into two parts for easy transport and storage – and then re-assembled quickly without tools.
