Stihl has designed this MS 170 domestic chainsaw with efficiency in mind. Benefitting from a highly powerful 2-stroke petrol engine with a 2-mix system, it results in a 20% lower fuel consumption and greatly reduced emissions compared to other 2-stroke models.

What’s more, the fuel and air ratio is controlled by an advanced compensator. This prevents the carburettor’s fuel-air mixture becoming rich in petrol and the air filter becoming clogged. Only the right amount of fuel is delivered depending on the volume of air being sucked in, resulting in constant engine power.

Finally, Stihl has produced the MS 170 chainsaw with its Ematic chain lubrication system. To make the chains last longer and reduce friction, the system lubricates the saw chains links and guide bar rails, resulting in less wear and up to 50% less oil consumption.
