Firstly, the AP system of batteries will give you a minimum of 42 minutes runtime, no need to worry about carrying petrol or finding the nearest powerpoint.

Secondly, with no combustion engine means there are no fumes. So you can work in enclosed areas such as a warehouse or log cabin without the worry of emissions.

However, it’s fair to say the MSA 161 T is safer compared to its petrol-powered version. On the side of this cordless chainsaw are a side lock button and dedicated ring for carrying by tree climbers. This means, no unintentional starting of the power tool. Additionally, this machine also features a QuickStop Super Chain Brake so the chain stops immediately when the user let’s go of the rear handle, throttle or when the front guard is activated. As a consequence, when there be a strong kick-back the chain shuts off automatically, offering further protection.

Side chain tensioner

The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.

QuickStop Super Chain Brake (Q)

The additional braking system for extra safety. Users can trigger the chain brake directly at the rear handle. The chain stops in seconds whenever the user lets go of the rear handle and whenever there is sufficiently strong kickback or when the front hand guard is activated. This unique safety feature ensures even more user protection in all working positions.

New operating system

Side-lock button for increased safety remains locked until this button is pushed in.

Toolless filler cap
