To extend the life of your STIHL petrol brushcutter, you can carry out simple maintenance tasks yourself with the Service Kit 44. Regular standard maintenance, such as replacing the air and fuel filters and changing the spark plug, is usually quick and helps prolong the life of the extend engine. In this way, you contribute to the prevention of dirt and damage to the components and parts and you ensure that your machine always works reliably and optimally.

The STIHL Service Kit 44 for FS 490, FS 491, FS 510, FS 511, FS 560 and FS 561 contains the following elements for standard maintenance:

• Paper air filter
• Spark plug
• Fuel filter

The long service life of the STIHL air filter guarantees a long life for your petrol brushcutter. Clean filters increase engine performance, reduce fuel consumption and make it easier to start the machine. Your machine’s motor is thus perfectly protected against the ingress of abrasive dust. Performance is maintained, fuel consumption is low, and you can start your brushcutter with the usual ease.

The fuel filter helps prevent foreign particles from entering the engine through the fuel. Regular replacement of this part helps to protect the engine and thus also extends the life of your machine. To maintain performance, we also recommend replacing the spark plug regularly for stable, cleaner combustion in the engine.

To replace the air filter and spark plug, it is best to use the handy combination wrench with your STIHL machine. A cardboard hook is also included in the Service Kit package. This allows you to remove and replace the fuel filter. You do n’t need any extra tools.
