Clear & Bright LCD Display
The control panel features a large & clear LCD display, which can also be removed for operating convenience on the RMI 6 series models. This provides a very intuitive way of recording all settings, and also a convenient way of checking all the functions and performance data of the automatic lawn mower. The control panel is designed with a high-contrast display and coupled with its large LCD panel makes it easy to read even in sunlight.
Protection Allround
Being equipped with a number of various sensors ensures The STIHL iMOW® RMI 632 PC robotic mower is very safe to have working in the garden. It has the ability to instantly stop mowing if it detects someone trying to pick up the iMOW® while it’s in operation. To further protect the robotic lawn mower and prevent unauthorised or accidental use, it has a ‘Pin code’ protect function, which means it will only operate by entering the configured Pin code. A great safety feature we feel. On all C models, the iMOW® robotic mower can also be located using the free iMOW® app via smartphone or tablet using GPS.
Protective Movable Hood
If the iMOW® robotic mower comes up against an obstacle during its automatic mowing operation, the integrated sensors within the movable hood will detect any contact with the object and change the drive direction. This movable hood with inbuilt sensors does a great job to protect the STIHL iMOW® robotic mower from weather and obstacles.
Standard Equipment
As standard, the STIHL iMOW® robotic mower includes the machine itself along with the intelligent docking station, with four pegs for securing to the ground as well as an iMOW® ruler as an aid for laying the perimeter wire. Be advised that an installation kit is also required to install the iMOW® robotic mower.
Smart Docking Station
The Smart dock is the start point for each mowing operation. When the mower starts a mowing schedule, it is guided by a signal transmitted by the installed perimeter wire at your lawn edges, this signal, in turn, is fed via the docking station itself to provide all the information to the mower to perform its programme. The docking station is included as standard for the STIHL iMOW® robotic mower and is the robotic mower’s home and is also where it recharges its battery ready for the next mowing run If the weather happens to turn and it rains, or if the battery has begun to run low during mowing, the iMOW® robotic mower independently returns itself back to the smart dock to recharge its battery. Thanks to the docks intelligent charging system, the iMOW® will decide whether a quick charge is necessary due to another mowing run required soon after, or whether the battery should be charged slowly in normal mode to conserve power. For ease of installation, the docking station is versatile enough to be either positioned inside or outside the lawn area.
Mulching Deck
The iMOW® deck is built with a sturdy mulching blade fitted, ensuring a precise cutting pattern. This is the case even on grass with higher growth. The blades rotational direction will change every time it stops to help ensure that the blade of the automatic lawn mower wears evenly. Another bonus feature with the blade design is it can be changed without the need for tools.
Offset drive home
The iMOW® robotic mower will journey back home to the smart docking station along the perimeter wire by default. Alternatively and if necessary, it can travel back to the docking station with an alternating offset to the perimeter wire but this is dependant on the condition of the edge of the mowing area,
Removable control panel
The panel is flush-mounted into the housing of the automatic lawn mower and for convenient access, can also be removed. The control panel with its integrated, clear bright display is used on all STIHL iMOW® robotic mowers and aids for easy setup, manual control and quick viewing of the machine information. With its high-contrast display, it means the control panel can also be used in sunlight.
App Control
The dedicated free iMOW® app has an intuitive menu that can be accessed via a smartphone or tablet, which means many mowing settings can be made while on the move, as well as directly on the machine itself. The iMOW® app will transform your STIHL iMOW® robotic mower into a standalone smart garden system and offer a real-time overview of all the main functions and operational data. The interactive mowing plan will allow you to define any time window for each day during which the iMOW® robotic mower will work and charge its battery independently for full flexibility. Thanks to the integrated rain sensor and its ability to gather information from online weather forecasts, the automatic lawn mower will only mow in suitable weather conditions. Using its GPS localisation, the current location can also be viewed and the desired zone can be defined as the preferred mowing location at a specific time.
iMOW® Robotic Mower Drive
The RMI 6 series models will handle lawns with a gradient of up to 45% with ease and features a drive system that enables them to mow on hilly terrain with consistently high quality
Adaptive slope speed
Using the adaptive slope speed function which is part of the STIHL iMOWs control system, the robotic mower can adapt its speed on uneven terrain. An integrated tilt sensor will constantly analyse the mowers and adapt its speed accordingly.
Dynamic Mowing Plan
Using the STIHL iMOW® robotic mower interactive mowing plan, individual time windows during which the machine can be in operation can be predefined for each day. Within the active times, the Stihl RMI 632PC robotic lawn mower automatically determines the most suitable times to mow for an optimum result. If it has to cut short any mowing schedules because of rain, it automatically catches up later within the specified time windows set. This dynamic mowing plan can be called up and amended via the control panel at any time.
Traction Patterned Wheels
The smooth-running wheels with traction pattern ensure that the STIHL iMOW® robotic mower moves with precision. Especially on hilly lawns with a gradient of up to 45% and dense grass. The robotic mowers wheels are self-cleaning.
FAQ’s For STIHL IMOW
How do I adjust the cutting height?
You can adjust the cutting height using the rotary knob on top of the iMOW® robotic mower. Select the desired cutting height with reference to the marking on the rotary knob.
- The minimum cutting height (setting 1) is 20 mm
- The maximum cutting height (setting 8) is 60 mm
What happens to the cuttings?
The iMOW® robotic mower is a mulching mower. During mulching, the grass clippings are further shredded in the mowing deck housing after cutting. They then fall back into the turf, where they remain and decompose. The finely shredded clippings return organic nutrients to the lawn, serving as a natural fertiliser. Fertiliser requirements are thereby reduced significantly.
Where are the ‘no go’ areas?
No-go areas are areas where the iMOW® robotic mower should not venture. No-go areas can include
- Ponds
- Swimming pools
- Flowerbeds
- Vegetable patches
These areas must be cordoned off by routing the perimeter wire accordingly
Can the RMI 632PC Robotic Lawnmower mow lawn edges cleanly?
Soft edges (ground level patios, paths, etc.) are positioned inside the perimeter wire in such a way that the mower produces perfectly clean results. Around hard edges such as walls, raised patios, etc., the iMOW® robotic mower is installed in such a way that it travels as close to the edge as possible, but always safely.
How does the rain sensor work?
The rain sensor can be set so that mowing is interrupted or does not start when it is raining. The current value is displayed in a line diagram in the menu under “SMART” > “Weather” > “Rain sensor”. In order to set the 5-stage sensor, slide the control to the left or right. The rain sensor can also be set under “Settings” > “Rain sensor”. The sensitivity of the rain sensor and the time the robotic mower waits for the sensor surface to dry following rain varies, depending on the setting.
What happens when the battery on the IMOW is completely discharged?
The iMOW® robotic mower enters the docking station automatically at the end of the mowing operation or when the battery is low on energy. The number and duration of the mowing and charging operations within the active times are adapted fully automatically – Download PDF Manual Here (If Available)
