The lightweight 196kg is packing 16% more power than the older version, making the RT4082 an ideal choice for those uphill lawns. However, the agility of the vehicle has not been compromised by power though, boasting an extremely small turning circle to avoid trees and bushes in tight areas. Additionally, the compact design offers the driver an easier handling mower with a clear 360 view of their surroundings. Stihl’s RT 4082 also has a sprung loaded adjustable seat (tool-free), ensuring maximum comfort and support can be controlled by the rider. A single pedal controls the ride-on mower with hydrostatic transmission, so controlling speed is achieved with precision. Furthermore, the forward and reverse drive are controlled with an easy to reach lever, so you can switch direction effortlessly. Getting on and off this garden tractor is kid’s play, the low step allows you to climb aboard leaving plenty of legroom.

Adjust your cutting height from as low as 35mm

To achieve a stunning stripey lawn, you need a selection of easy to operate cutting heights. Luckily the RT 4082 comes with 8 height choices between 35 mm and 90 mm. What’s more, they are super easy to select – just slide the conveniently placed lever next to the seat to your choice. Another great feature is Stihl’s grass guide system, designed to lift grass towards the blades for an efficient and precise cut (even at lawn edges). To activate the blades, simply press the button on the control panel to engage the blade clutch using an electromagnetic system. Whilst mowing, your grass cuttings will be collected tightly in the generous 250-litre grass catcher box. When it’s time to empty after your mowing session, simply move the well placed lever back to empty the box – no need to leave your seat. If you prefer to keep your grass clippings on your lawn as a fertiliser, the RT 4082 ride on mower comes with a mulching function.

Turf tyres

The large turf tyres of the STIHL ride-on mower help to protect the lawn. Thanks to their rounded tyre design, they reduce the formation of driving tracks.

Trailer hitch

The integral trailer hitch enables easy mounting of attachments such as the convenient PICK UP 300 tilting trailer, which can also be used as a wheel barrow.

Central cutting height adjustment

The lever to adjust the deck cutting height is located directly next to the driver’s seat. It enables individual adjustment of the cutting height in up to eight steps.

Catching management system

Grass catcher box with bow handle

The polymer grass catcher box can be emptied effortlessly from the driver’s seat simply using the curved shaped handle. The “dumper” design ensures optimum filling and residual-free emptying of the grass catcher box. Cleaning the catcher box is also easy.

Single pedal drive

With the STIHL single pedal drive, the direction of travel can be conveniently switched between forward and reverse gear using a hand lever for quick manoeuvring. The pressure-sensitive pedal allows for precise control of the speed between top speed and standstill. The separate brake pedal ensures immediate stopping.

Electromagnetic blade clutch (EBC)

The mowing deck can be easily engaged and disengaged by a switch situated on the control panel.

Mulching function

With the mulch insert, the STIHL ride-on mowers can be converted into mulching mowers. The grass catcher box is simply removed and the mulch insert pushed into the grass catcher chute. This allows the grass to be shredded into fine particles inside the closed housing before they fall back into the turf, returning vital nutrients and moisture to the soil. Through this natural form of fertilising, there is no need to dispose of the grass.
