SUMMARY

The connector provides enriched data for new professional cordless machines. Cannot be retrofitted to petrol or historic cordless models (unless otherwise stated). Can be used alongside the existing Smart Connectors and Portal accounts, isn’t a compulsory accessory for compatible machines.

WHAT’S NEW?

• Real time clock (RTC). Can link machine usage to a date/time regardless of sync frequency, meaning run time isn’t ‘dumped’ into the day of the latest connection. This leads to more reliable information.
• Direct connection to control unit. Can draw energy from tool battery during use as well as CR2450 3V button cell. Allows for higher quality/quantity of tool data, including machine faults and motor RPM records.
• LED status indicator. Users can press the button to see machine status, rather than being fully reliant on the app. Green means no messages available, yellow indicates maintenance task(s) are due or the Connector battery needs to be replaced. Red means a fault has been detected – this can be pinpointed to the faulty component (switch, motor, modules etc) in the app.
• Tool Identification. The app can be used to activate the LED of the connected machine. Ideal for identifying identical unmarked machines. – Faster Setup. No drilling / sticking or scanning is necessary for setup, no risk of placing the connector in the wrong position.
• Dealer receives enhanced information. Dealers made aware /i■Ck) of faults (red lights) through the specialist dealer account (if setup).

STIHL connected is a cloud based system that enables professional users to digitally manage machine fleets and work assignments.

The Smart Connector 2 A connects directly into the control module of selected professional AP System battery machines. As well as runtime, Smart Connector 2 A also collects information on the operating speed, the status of individual electronic components and ambient temperature. Also features a real time clock, meaning the data is collected accurately regardless of how often the connector syncs with a smartphone, so you can see when and for how long the tool was used. Pressing the button on the Smart Connector 2 A gives a quick indication of the status of the machine via an LED light, and highlights if a maintenance task is due. The LED can also be used in conjunction with the STIHL connected App to identify individual machines (by lighting up a LED on the connector) in large fleets. The Smart Connector 2 A offers entirely new functions and services, as a basis for device management both in your garden using the STIHL connected App, and for managing your machine fleet using the STIHL connected Portal. The STIHL connected Portal gives you a detailed overview of the status of your fleet of tools, as well as information such as duration of use on a particular work assignment.

You can view power tool availability, analyse machine usage; plan and manage work tasks with associated resources; and analyse machine data, which you can then use to optimise your daily work processes. The Smart Connector 2 A also provides information about upcoming tool maintenance and, if needed, the system can arrange a workshop appointment directly with a STIHL Approved Dealer. Service-related tool data can also be shared with the dealer with your permission, so they can plan the servicing work in advance and order any necessary spare parts. This can shorten service times so the tool is quickly ready for use again.

    The STIHL connected Portal is tailored to the specific requirements of professional users when it comes to fleet management.

    With STIHL connected, you always have an overview of the status and location of your power tools. Key operating data for your machines is transferred with the aid of the STIHL Smart Connector, meaning that all power tool data is also available on your computer via the STIHL connected Portal. This makes it possible to analyse the data and send maintenance requests directly to your dealer.

    Our AR 2000 L and AR 3000 L backpack batteries come standard with STIHL connected and Bluetooth® built in. This lets you view the charging status and duration of use of your battery.
