The Stihl TS 420 is a 3.2-kW cut-off machine that is both small and durable and has a 350mm cutting wheel.
Product Overview
Excellent cutting and guiding properties from the Stihl TS 420 thanks to its compact design and optimised balancing with operating vibrations kept quite low at 3.9m/s2. The long-life filter system with cyclone pre-separation eliminates the need for on-site maintenance with the Engine incorporating the stratified charge system for high performance. The disc cutter also has its ElastoStart onboard along with a priming pump, and a decompression valve which are all included. For tool-free opening, a bayonet filler cap is used. The Stihl TS 420 is designed to be used with a 350mm cutting wheel and has an abrasive cutting wheel included.

Engine technology with reduced emissions
The Stihl TS 420’s engine is a two-stroke with a stratified charge. Between the consumed charge in the combustion chamber and the new charge in the crankcase, a fuel-free layer of air is generated, minimising the quantity of fuel wasted during the charge cycle. This results in higher power with less weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption, and much fewer exhaust pollutants than standard 2-stroke engines.
Manual fuel pump
At the push of a button, a small fuel pump supplies fuel to the carburettor, allowing the engine to run more efficiently. When processes are interrupted for lengthy periods of time, the number of beginning strokes required is reduced.
Water supply
To reduce the amount of dust created during cutting with the Stihl TS 420, water is fed to the cutting wheel via a normal water connection with sprinkler system. It is delivered to the device in such a way that it does not obstruct your job.
Pre-separation air filtration system
STIHL long-life air filtration systems with pre-separation provide a noticeable advantage over traditional filter systems in terms of filter life. The air that is sucked in is whirled. Ejected are the larger, denser particles. The pre-cleaned air is sent through the pre-separator duct to the air filter.
Anti-vibration system
Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine’s engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles to the Stihl TS 420.
Ergonomic grip position
The innovative, ergonomic design on the Stihl TS 420, enables each user to operate in the most comfortable grip position. The loop handle allows for superior cutting comfort in any working posture.
Semi automatic drive belt tensioning
Light, consistent re-tensioning increases the service life of the belts and shaft bearings.
